Music Ministry

Music is a vital part of worship at Bethesda United Methodist Church. Whether listening to the music of composers such as Bach, Palestrina, and Mozart, or singing along with the newest contemporary songs by Steven Curtis Chapman and Audio Adrenaline, music inspires and uplifts listener and participant alike.

Music Program Descriptions

Kids' Praise
BUMC's Kids Praise is an opportunity for children age 4 through 6th grade to worship in music (both vocal and instrumental), dance, and drama in a fun-filled setting. The group usually sings once a month at both the 8:45am and 11:00am services as well as participating in musical dramas and service projects.
Youth Choir
Our youth delight in this high-energy group. All youth in grades 7-12 are invited to come sing their hearts out for God and learn the dynamics of singing in the process. This choir will learn challenging works of both contemporary and traditional style. They sing monthly, alternating services as well as participating in special performances.
Youth Praise Band
The youth praise band is a group of committed musicians in grades 6-12 that lead a variety of worship experiences at BUMC and beyond. The youth praise band also creates original sacred contemporary music. There are opportunities for members of the youth praise band to be both mentored and to be mentors. Youth praise band plays at least twice a month and rehearses about every two weeks. Youth Tech training will be provided for anybody interested in running the sound board, video and lights. Any youth interested in the Youth Praise Band or Youth Tech, please contact David Welch at dwelch@dubinskyco.com.
